I’m contacting you today to inquire about getting your support regarding a local cat sanctuary that got maliciously raided and now the loving and caring site owner is facing over a dozen charges.



Her name is Lin Marie, owner of 14 years and founder of Tiger Ranch Cat Sanctuary, Tarentum Pa. It was her childhood dream to save cats from unneeded euthanasia . She went to her mom for support and her mom replied that she would need to do a lot to get there such as a lot of schooling and to own a farm. Lin Marie achieved these thing that her mom spoke of and opened Tiger Ranch.



Lin Marie is a very religious women who strongly believes that this was her "calling" and in Commandment 6 "Thow shalt not Kill." She also follows this strongly when it comes to her NO KILL cat sanctuary. She takes in cats that others don’t want or would kill because of a condition that they have. She believes that the cats with such conditions should be able to live out their lives to the fullest. The cats that are sick or injured are given proper medication to ease their pain prescribed by a certified veterinarian and made as comfortable as possible to live out the rest of their lives at Tiger Ranch.



She strongly stands behind this as she stated to the media "you wouldn’t kill a sick human, would you?"

Tiger Ranch provides low/no cost spaying and neutering to owners who are in need of that assistance. Approximately 1000 spaying/neutering surgeries are completed per year with the help of Lin/Tiger Ranch. Lin also takes in over 1000 animals a year into her sanctuary and places around 8-900 of these animals into loving homes which are spayed/neutered before the adoption occurs.



On March 13th, 2008, all of this changed with the PSPCA from Philadelphia maliciously raided Tiger Ranch due to some undercover video that was shot by a volunteer.



This video shot was supposed to show deplorable conditions at Tiger Ranch. The cats shot on the video were the ones that were in the medical treatment room. There was cats shot with eye problems which to a normal person would look as if the cat was sick or not being treated but in turn was indeed being treated for Herpes. There was also a room that was shot where the person said that the cats in that room were placed in there and left to die. This room I speak of was the isolation room which held the cats that were infectious and needed to be separated from the rest of the cat population. There was also a deep freezer shot with approx. 100 cat carcases inside. These deceased animals couldn’t be buried due to not being checked by the vet for disease and/or winter time (which the ground is frozen).



These examples are just some of the conclusions that the PSPCA jumped to. These animals were never in danger or in pain or even living in filth. They were being given a 2nd and 3rd chance to live out their lives by a loving and admirable women named Lin Marie. Not once did the video ever show the good side of Tiger Ranch and/or Lin Marie.



Tiger Ranch has had multiple outstanding inspections by regional groups including the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society and Animal Friends. These foundations were contacted regarding the alleged accusations but refused to take action due to the report that Tiger Ranch had with them. They knew that Tiger Ranch was legit and didn’t need investigated. Lin Marie was very well known through out the community for her compassion and strength to take on such a vigorous role in the community. Lin Marie never did anything wrong in my eyes along with many other supporters including Last Chance for Animals out of California.



Once you get to know her, you’ll know that she’s a caring, compassionate women deep down that shouldn’t be facing these charges and as she says "Tiger Ranch will rise like a phoenix from the ashes"

We have a lot of beagle mix puppies that were rescued from a mill. that are going to need good, loving homes coming up in a couple months. There are 8 puppies that are about 7 weeks, six puppies that will be two weeks on thur nov. 15, and 9 puppies that will be one week on sat nov. 17th. The two younger sets we're born here in the backroom of our grooming shop, and the older set was brought in with there mother already born. We are holding two sets at the kennel and shop, and the older ones are at West Deer shelter. Also, adoption fees through west deer shelter are reasonable, and all puppies will be fixed, and have their current up to date shots upon adoption.
