Somehow, someway...Mikey got a "vision" on the show around 8am before Hossa signed with the Wings that Hossa would sign with Detroit. Don't we all remember Hossa saying after the Cup Finals that he'd be willing to take LESS money to stay with Sid in Pittsburgh and play for more Cups? LIAR, WHORE, LIAR, WHORE!  The Pens offer to Hossa was for 7 years, $50 million...not much less than what he's getting per year in Detroit....JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!

If and when Detroit plays in Pittsburgh next......BOOOOOO THIS MAN!!!!!!

The Ottawa Senators signed Jarko Ruutu to a 3 year, $3.9 million deal. RUUTU DOWN! This one hurt too but nothing like Hossa did. We trust that Ray Shero knows what he's doing as he figures we could spare Ruutu. Still sad but we can get over it.

The good news...the Pens made the Malkin deal official. 5 years at $8.7 million a year. Nice move to get Malkin signed so we don't have to have heart attacks next off season and teams throwing $12 million a year at him http://penguins.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=367565

Defenseman Brooks Orpik resigned for 6 years at $3.5 million a year. Nice deal for the Pens to make the day a little bit brighter.

Ottawa Senators Sign Jarkko Ruutu to a three-year, $3.9 million contract.

Left winger Jarkko Ruutu turned down a two-year offer from the Penguins and signed with Ottawa, reportedly for three years at an average salary of $1.3 million.

so thats that...this one hurts

The Post-Gazette is reporting Marian Hossa will NOT be back with the Pens next year and has signed with the Detroit Red Wings. The Wings reportedly offered Hossa a shorter deal than other clubs were offering. 

Apparently he got a 1 year deal at $7.4 million....only around $300,000 more than the Pens had offered him.
